General
Written and still image-based submissions are greatly encouraged. With the intention of promoting an interdisciplinary and explorative approach to film criticism, we shall accept the following formats: photo essay, manifesto, filmmaker interview, field notes on cinematographic praxis, literature review, traditional scholastic essay, and journalistic reportage. Capsule reviews, however, are discouraged. Contributions from established critics, filmmakers, and lesser-known cinephiles shall be welcomed alike. There are no restrictions on ideological, analytical, or hermeneutic approach. Though successful submissions shall be made freely accessible on this website, guidelines of Open Access and Creative Commons shall be observed. Please hyperlink or cite work here accordingly.
Length, Referencing and Style
Recommended length for articles, reports, and transcriptions is 800 – 2500 words, for essays 3000 – 6000 words. Please submit in A4 word format (1.5 line spaced) via email. References, if any, should be made in footnotes: MLA citation style is preferred. There are no specific guidelines on style, but for technical submissions unnecessary obfuscation is discouraged. We regret that only English language submissions will be considered, however, translated work is welcomed. When proposing submissions or sending completed work, please provide a brief abstract.
